Charles (Charlie) Trevor Sherwood

Charles Sherwood was born on 22 December 1939 in Queensland. He enlisted on 27 December 1956 and commenced his recruit training at 1RTB on 16 January 1957. On completion he was allotted to the Royal Australian Artillery and following his initial gun training he was posted to 102nd Field Battery, 1st Field Regiment on 12 August 1957 and subsequently to 101st Field Battery. In 1959 on 13 March he was deployed to Malaya as a member of ‘A’ Field Battery. He was subsequently posted to 101st Field Battery which was part of the Australia New Zealand United Kingdom (ANZUK) force in Malaya and came under command of 26th Field Regiment RA.

Charlie’s final posting was with 131st Divisional Locating Battery in 1960 and he discharged from the Army on 26 December 1962.
