Graham John Newstead died on 13 July 2023 survived by his wife, Sue and daughters Melanie and Nicole, and their families.

Born in Renmark, Graham grew up in nearby Cooltong, and worked initially in a cattle station west of Rockhampton. Called up for National Service in February 1968, he served on the guns on 105th Battery’s second tour of Vietnam, and with the civil affairs unit.

Graham marries Sue in 1971. He was Works Manager of the local council in Elliston for seven years before moving to Yorketown, where he lived for fifteen years before retiring in Stansbury.

Graham was a Legatee with Southern Yorke Peninsular Legacy for twenty years, provided assistance to the ex-service community on welfare and pension on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, and was a Veterans’ Review Board Advocate.
