50th ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND
         

The Battle of Coral 50th Anniversary commemorations and celebrations will be held over the weekend Friday 11 May 2018 to Sunday 13th May 2018.

Listed below in a chronological sequence are the events to occur over the Battle of Coral 50th Anniversary Weekend.   Below these activities is an Online Registration Form for those wishing to attend any or all of the activities.

Please note that there is a separate subsidised cost for Coral veterans and 1 guest for the Meet & Greet and the DVA reception.

Please note that all monies for the events you attend are to be paid by either direct deposit or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery 'Gunner Fund' account the details of which are shown immediately above the Online Registration Form. Payment is to be made before registering thereby enabling you to identify your Deposit Reference on the Online Registration Form and no later than 1 May 2018.

 
Friday 11th May 2018 - Meet & Greet - RAA 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Coral
     
Event Type: RAA Specific  
Time: 1730 hours - 1930 hours  
Location: Federal Golf Club (Gowrie Drive, RED HILL ACT 2603)  
Dress: Neat Casual (no singlets or thongs etc)  
Food: Finger Food provided  
Drinks: Purchase own drinks  
Cost: $10.00 Per Coral Veteran plus 1 Guest  
  $35.00 Per Person  
Attendance: Everyone is encouraged to attend to permit registration including issue of tickets for Sunday commemorations & to receive a briefing on the weekends activities  
 
Saturday 12th May 2018 - National Gunner Commemorative Service (Hosted by RAA Association ACT)
     
Event Type: RAA Specific  
Time: 1030 hours (assemble from 0930 hours and be seated by no later than 1015 hours)  
Location: Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery National Memorial on Mt Pleasant  
Parking: Enter RMC via Gun Gates, follow Signs & Guides to car park & take shuttle bus to Mt Pleasant  
Dress: Serving Personnel - Summer / Service Dress with medals  
Dress: Non Serving Personnel - Coat & Tie with medals (Alternative Smart Casual) & Ladies Equivalent  
 
Saturday 12th May 2018 - National Coral Gunner Dinner (Hosted by Representative Colonel Commandant - Brigadier Gerry Werner AM, LVO (Retd) & Head of Regiment - Brigadier Craig Furini AM, CSC
     
Format: All ranks mixed semi-formal dinner with Guest Speaker, Banner of QEII, Toasts etc  
Attendance: Open invitation to all RAA Battle of Coral veterans, their partners; serving & retired Gunners. The serving Regiment will be represented by a range of ranks & units including 102 (Coral) Battery members.  
Guest Speaker: TBA  
Incidental Music: RMC Band Ensemble or the 'Trail Apes' from the RAA Band 1 Regiment RAA  
Time: 1830 hours for 1930 hours  
Location: Federal Golf Club (Gowrie Drive, RED HILL ACT 2603)  
Dress: Black Tie / Mess Dress / Summer Dress with medals (alternative Lounge Suit or Coat & Tie) or Ladies Equivalent  
Costs: Non Coral Veterans $125.00 per person. Coral Veterans plus 1 guest $20.00 per person. Two course meal and cheese board plus wine, beer and soft drinks pre & during dinner. Spirits at individual cost.

Sunday 13th May 2018 - DVA Combined National Events / Activities - National 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Coral & Balmoral Commemorative Service
     
Time: 1100 hours (Assemble from 0900 hours)  
Location: Anzac Parade Canberra at the Australian War Memorial South Vietnam Memorial  
Dress: Coat & Tie (Alternative Smart Casual) or Ladies Equivalent  
 
Sunday 13th May 2018 - Post Commemorative Service Reception (only DVA officially invited veterans & guests)
     
Time: 1230 hours for 1530 hours  
Location: Canberra Convention Centre in Civic  
Dress: Coat & Tie (Alternative Smart Casual) or Ladies Equivalent.  
 
Sunday 13th May 2018 - Australian War Memorial Last Post Ceremony
     
Time: 1630 hours for 1645 hours  
Location: Australian War Memorial Commemorative Courtyard  
Dress: Non-serving Coat & Tie with medals (Alternative Smart Casual) or Ladies Equivalent  
  Serving Personnel - Summer / Service Dress with medals
